Workers Compensation Associate Claim Representative (AI)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States

Salary: $52,600–$86,800 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Complete structured virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training in insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, evaluate, and document workers compensation claims under close supervision.
• Assess coverage, compensability, exposure, and potential fraud, and develop action plans for claim resolution.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, medical providers, and other third parties.
• Communicate claim status and coordinate medical treatment and return-to-work outcomes with relevant parties.
• Maintain accurate claim records and participate in telephonic or onsite file reviews while developing independent claims-handling capability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or required by the ideal-candidate profile.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Acquire and maintain an adjuster or other relevant insurance license within three months where required by state law and hirify.global’ requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn claims management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgment, customer service, organizational, conflict-resolution, and multitasking skills.
