Orion GN&C Engineer

Location: NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite position; U.S. citizenship is required and a background check is required.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate safety-critical Orion GN&C flight software.
• Update Orion GN&C flight software using MATLAB, Simulink, and Autocode.
• Analyze and test flight software with Python and C/C++.
• Further develop flight software processes and procedures.
• Perform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software.
• Collaborate with NASA civil servants and contractor employees in a team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with relevant field experience.
• Significant experience with MATLAB, including Simulink, Stateflow, and Autocode.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Significant knowledge of guidance, navigation, and control.
• Experience with GN&C software development, software processes and procedures, and software integration and build management.
• U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a background check are required.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with TRICK/JEOD simulation architecture.
• Experience developing safety- and flight-critical embedded software.
• Object-oriented software development experience and knowledge of source code control.
