Senior Applications Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Up to 20% travel to customer facilities and trade shows may be required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

• Guide technical customers through the use and integration of communication products.
• Represent the products as a technical expert from marketing through in-orbit support.
• Author technical application notes, user manuals, white papers, diagrams, and related documentation.
• Transfer customer feedback to product development teams and help shape the product roadmap.
• Methodically troubleshoot, recreate, and solve customer-reported electronics and software anomalies.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the Business Development Team.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in technical product development or application support.
• In-depth knowledge of RF electronics, communication systems, and link budgets.
• Experience with FPGA and embedded software for software-defined radio applications.
• Working proficiency in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with technical customer relationships and methodical troubleshooting of electronics and software.
• Knowledge of high-speed digital systems, power electronics, DSP, embedded software, and mechanical interfaces.

Nice to have

• Public technical communication work samples, such as application notes or user manuals.
• Experience with high-reliability electronics, aerospace, or small satellites.
• Experience in technical product planning, marketing, sales, or customer-focused proposal solutions.
