Company

hirify.global develops reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems, including the New Glenn heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.

What you will do

  • Design and develop guidance, control, and sequencing algorithms for New Glenn flight control.
  • Define GN&C requirements and verification methods across subsystem and flight software levels.
  • Build Simulink algorithms for auto-code generation and implement hand-coded flight software in C/C++ where appropriate.
  • Assess stability, performance, and robustness through linear and nonlinear modeling and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Develop unit tests, support code coverage and formal verification, and integrate systems through hardware-in-the-loop test campaigns.
  • Validate plant models and algorithm performance using test and flight data while coordinating vehicle-level analyses, trade studies, peer reviews, and root-cause investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing guidance and control software for aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical applications.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for algorithm design and analysis.
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission as a refugee or asylee is required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of classical and modern control design techniques.
  • Experience with C/C++ flight software, Simulink auto-code generation, Monte Carlo analysis, hardware-in-the-loop or flight test campaigns, and plant model validation.
  • Python scripting for analysis, automation, or data processing.
  • Experience with flight software verification, mentoring junior engineers, or leading cross-disciplinary technical trades.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows.

Culture & Benefits

  • Safety, collaboration, inclusion, trust, equality, and teamwork are emphasized.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) with company matching of up to 5%.
