Sr Structural Engineer

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; office or hybrid environment, with occasional travel.

What you will do

• Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects.
• Provide technical guidance on the design and analysis of metallic and composite structures.
• Perform high-level structural analysis, validation, and systematic problem-solving.
• Develop and review technical documentation, reports, design specifications, and substantiation materials.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams on engineering priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of structural engineering or related experience.
• Expert understanding of structural analysis and design principles, including static and/or dynamic analysis.
• Experience with computer-aided engineering tools and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment because an active U.S. security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a related field and a Professional Engineering license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, ANSYS, NASGRO, or AFGROW.
• Experience in fatigue, damage tolerance, finite element, and classical hand-calculation analysis.
• Experience authoring substantiation reports and familiarity with FAA, NASA, or DoD regulations.
• Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
