TL;DR
Structural Analyst (Aerospace): Owning structural prediction and design verification for spacecraft and propulsion hardware with an accent on load definition, strength, fatigue, fracture, and test-correlated modeling. Focus on developing repeatable analysis tools, correlating structural test data, and solving complex verification and anomaly-investigation challenges across flight hardware.

Location: On-site in Kent, Washington, United States

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 annually

Company

Builds satellite infrastructure for the orbital economy, including space-based energy generation, infrared laser transmission, and secure optical data connectivity.

What you will do

  • Own structural prediction and verification from load definition and first-order sizing through test-correlated models used to clear hardware for flight.
  • Derive structural load sets covering quasi-static and dynamic cases, pressure and thermal loads, and coupled ground, ascent, and on-orbit environments.
  • Perform static strength, stability, buckling, joint, fastener, fatigue, durability, fracture, and damage-tolerance analyses.
  • Develop analysis tools, scripts, templates, and checklists to make structural work consistent, reviewable, and repeatable.
  • Define structural test objectives and pass/fail criteria; support proof, static, modal, vibration, and life testing through data reduction and model correlation.
  • Support anomaly investigations, failure reconstruction, inspections, and nonconformance disposition while collaborating with analysis, fluids, propulsion, GNC, and test operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of structural analysis experience for flight vehicles, propulsion systems, or other high-performance hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, structural analysis, stability, materials behavior, plasticity, fatigue, fracture, damage tolerance, and crack-growth methods.
  • Proficiency with commercial FEA tools for linear and nonlinear structural problems, plus classical hand calculations.
  • Proficiency with Python or MATLAB for analysis automation, post-processing, and tool development.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, protected individual, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required ITAR authorizations.

Nice to have

  • 10+ years of relevant structural analysis experience and direct experience with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or rocket engine structures.
  • Experience with fracture-control standards, NASA structural standards, NASGRO, AFGROW, MMPDS, or related materials allowables sources.
  • Experience with structural dynamics, composite and bonded structures, COPVs, pressure vessels, nonlinear FEA, and coupled thermal-structural or fluid-structure analysis.
  • Experience developing scripted workflows, internal analysis tooling, qualification campaigns, proof and burst testing, or vehicle static and modal testing.
  • Experience setting analysis standards and review processes for engineering teams.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity in hirify.global Corp.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, and 10 paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave and relocation assistance if applicable.
  • Daily office lunch and a stocked kitchen with beverages and snacks.
