Financial Examiner Lead (Director/MD/Partner)

Location: Remote, anywhere in the United States; flexibility for travel is required when necessary.

Compensation: $181,900–$397,700 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead comprehensive multi-state risk-focused, targeted, and interim financial examinations for state insurance departments.
• Serve as Examiner-in-Charge or subject matter expert on examinations of varying size and complexity.
• Manage client engagements from proposals and contracting through planning, execution, deliverables, and completion.
• Review insurance company records and data, assess compliance with insurance laws and regulations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Draft examination reports, management letters, review memoranda, exhibits, work papers, and supporting schedules.
• Develop client relationships, grow a significant financial services portfolio, recruit staff, and lead training and thought leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 10 years of insurance experience involving financial examinations, state insurance departments, insurance companies, examination firms, or public accounting.
• Completed or actively pursuing the CFE (Certified Financial Examiner) designation; CPA is preferred but not required.
• Deep knowledge of the NAIC Financial Condition Examiners Handbook, insurance laws, rules, statutes, and regulations.
• Prior Examiner-in-Charge experience on significant and complex financial examinations.
• Strong project management, analytical, presentation, communication, coaching, and client service skills.
