Medical Assistant, Certified - Float Pool MelroseWakefield, 24 Hours

Location: MelroseWakefield Healthcare - 101 Main Street; ability to float to Medford, Wakefield, Melrose, Malden, Winthrop, Reading, and other satellite locations as needed.

Pay range: $23.00–$26.91 per hour.

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, room utilization, delays, and provider availability across outpatient clinics.
• Prepare patients, exam rooms, and medical records for visits while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and other patient data.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Perform point-of-care testing, equipment quality checks, referrals, prior authorizations, and diagnostic procedure coordination.
• Support billing documentation, electronic medical record scanning, supply inventory, interpreter coordination, telephone coverage, and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• Less than two years of Medical Assistant experience; the role requires vocational or technical education and works under general supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for documentation and accurate message taking.
• Basic to moderate computer skills, knowledge of EPIC and electronic medical record systems, HIPAA confidentiality, universal precautions, and safe patient handling.

Nice to have

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual ability.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.

• Part-time schedule of 24 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, within 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. shifts.
