Medical Assistant - Specialty Float Pool - Per Diem (Clinical Care): Supporting providers with patient examinations, diagnostic testing, specimen processing, medication administration, and clinical documentation with an accent on accurate ambulatory care procedures and patient-specific measurements. Focus on rooming patients, conducting ECG and screening tests, performing venipuncture and point-of-care testing, and maintaining clinical supplies.

Location: Manchester - Riverfront, United States; Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, day shift.

What you will do

  • Prepare patient charts and ensure diagnostic results, reports, and consultations are available to providers.
  • Room patients and document complaints, allergies, vital signs, medications, tobacco history, LMP, and health maintenance information.
  • Perform measurements, hearing and vision assessments, respiratory and ECG testing, screenings, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
  • Perform venipuncture, process specimens, and administer medications and immunizations through appropriate routes.
  • Process prescription refills and prior authorizations according to established guidelines.
  • Manage clinical supplies and medication sample areas, maintaining appropriate stock, labeling, storage, and par levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • For MA I: completion of an accredited or formal medical assistant training program, or one year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training or prior Medical Assistant experience.
  • For MA II: at least three years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Relevant healthcare experience is required; one to two years in an ambulatory clinical care setting is preferred.
  • MA II candidates must hold CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • BLS authorization is required within 90 days of employment and must be maintained throughout employment; CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is preferred for MA I.
