Clinical Assistant Per Diem

Salary: $50,000.00–$62,853.73 per year

What you will do

• Provide direct patient care, including recording vital signs, pain screens, weights, and heights in electronic medical records.
• Collect, label, and process patient specimens while instructing patients and families on collection procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs as applicable and assist nursing and medical staff with clinical procedures.
• Transport patients, records, specimens, blood components, equipment, and supplies according to Institute policies.
• Support clinic operations by preparing medical records, maintaining supplies, cleaning equipment, and monitoring the care environment.
• Communicate patient status, concerns, wait times, and changing needs with patients, families, providers, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Two years of equivalent experience in a medical setting required.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and in a busy setting with patients of all ages and complex needs.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Working knowledge of clinical computer systems, telephone and pager systems, emergency response systems, and patient privacy practices.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy certification, depending on the work location.
• College coursework or enrollment in an accredited bachelor's nursing program with at least two completed clinical rotations.
