Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually, commensurate with skill level and experience.

What you will do

• Report, research, write, and present news stories for broadcast, web, social media, and other eMedia platforms.
• Gather information through interviews, investigations, observations, public records, and event attendance.
• Arrange interviews, evaluate leads, develop story ideas, and pitch relevant stories to news managers and producers.
• Determine story emphasis, length, and format while revising content to meet editorial approval and time requirements.
• Shoot and edit news events and reports while maintaining journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluent English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• At least two years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Superior on-air presence and proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks, and work any shift.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and required membership in the SAG-AFTRA union.
