Trust & Safety Compliance Specialist (DC)

Location: Washington, D.C.; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

Salary: $31.06–$46.15 per hour in Washington, D.C., with possible discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Review high volumes of user-generated content for compliance with U.S. legal mandates and safety standards.
• Interpret and apply internal safety guidelines and external legislative requirements to real-world content cases.
• Draft clear, concise, legally sound explanations for compliance decisions and actions.
• Monitor emerging state-level data privacy, child safety, and social media legislation.
• Collaborate with Legal, Policy, and Public Relations teams to provide analytical feedback on policy impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify nuances between community guidelines and statutory requirements.
• Exceptional writing skills and the ability to defend complex decisions in a structured, professional manner.
• Ability to make fast, accurate decisions in a high-pressure environment.
• Familiarity with social media ecosystems, digital content distribution, and moderation.
• Ability to handle sensitive data under U.S. data sovereignty and security requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in content moderation, paralegal work, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment such as government, fintech, or healthcare.
