Assistant Corporate Counsel – Transactions – Government Contracts, Privacy, and Strategic Projects

Location: On-site at the global headquarters in Seattle, Washington, USA; non-remote.

Base salary: $100,000 annually. Target first-year total cash compensation: $140,000–$160,000, including a performance-based quarterly bonus.

What you will do

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial agreements supporting global operations.
• Support business development by reviewing customer requirements, RFPs, proposals, and related contractual documents.
• Advise sales, account management, product, finance, risk, compliance, cybersecurity, and operations teams on legal and commercial risks.
• Provide legal guidance on privacy, data protection, contractual requirements, and cross-border data transfers.
• Review and advise on government, defense, and other regulated-industry contracts, as well as corporate governance matters.
• Develop legal research, practical guidance, templates, playbooks, and continuous-improvement initiatives while managing outside counsel relationships.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree.
• Licensed or authorized to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
• Approximately 4–7 years of combined legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, government agency, judicial clerkship, or comparable legal environment.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and working directly with business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, legal research, drafting, negotiation, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to provide practical, risk-based advice, exercise sound judgment, learn unfamiliar legal matters quickly, and work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Exposure to privacy, data protection, government contracting, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, or other complex regulated legal environments.
• Experience supporting international operations or cross-border legal matters.
• In-house experience supporting a multinational organization.
• Fluency in one or more foreign languages.
