Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics - Global User-Generated Content (UGC) Compliance

Location: USA, Bentonville, Arkansas home office; additional salary location in San Bruno, California.

Annual salary: $110,000–$220,000 in Bentonville or $143,000–$286,000 in San Bruno, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the expansion and continuous improvement of the global user-generated content compliance program.
• Establish enterprise-wide moderation policies, controls, and escalation pathways for legal, regulatory, and trust and safety risks.
• Oversee governance processes for user-submitted content across marketplaces, social commerce, search, and review platforms.
• Use analytics, business intelligence, and monitoring programs to measure control effectiveness and identify emerging risks.
• Partner with technology, product, and engineering teams to deploy scalable content moderation and digital safety solutions.
• Evaluate artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to improve moderation accuracy and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in building and scaling compliance programs related to trust and safety, content moderation, or user-generated content.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience without the degree.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading direct reports, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
• Data-driven decision-making experience using analytics, business intelligence, and risk monitoring.
• At least 4 years of experience using intermediate Microsoft Office functionality.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor or master's degree in business administration, public administration, legal/regulatory studies, or a related field.
• Experience integrating machine learning or artificial intelligence models into compliance or moderation workflows.
• Familiarity with data science and statistics concepts.
• Project Management Professional certification.
