Head of Talent, Japan (Luxury Retail)

What you will do

• Partner with Japan leaders on workforce planning, organization design, capability building, and people plans.
• Lead performance management cycles, coach leaders, and drive talent and succession planning.
• Provide employee relations guidance and case management while ensuring compliance with Japanese labor laws and company policies.
• Strengthen employee engagement, culture, hiring strategy, and learning initiatives across corporate and retail operations.
• Represent the Talent Department on the Japan leadership committee and manage one talent team member while co-managing two additional members.
• Lead Japan people programs, HR process governance, change initiatives, vendor relationships, reporting, and HR data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in HR, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with strong HR Business Partnering experience.
• Working knowledge of Japan labor laws, employment practices, and employee relations case management.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders on talent, engagement, and organizational change outcomes.
• Strong coaching, influencing, stakeholder management, analytical, and execution skills.
• Fluent Japanese and English communication skills required.

• Advanced degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
