Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site in Columbia, Maryland, at the customer site five days a week. U.S. Citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance with agency-appropriate CI polygraph are required.

Salary: $55.23–$128.52 per hour

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, as well as on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems for high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Explore new technologies and provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with CI Polygraph and U.S. Citizenship.
• 9+ years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor's degree, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, Terraform, Ansible, application and OS deployment, and infrastructure scaling.
• Programming experience with Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git and Flux; and proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, Agile development, and software development tool-suite skills.
• Ability to work on the customer site in Columbia, Maryland, five days per week, including flexibility for schedule changes and occasional workspace opening or closing.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Additional experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform.
