Process Technician (Medical Device Manufacturing)

Location: Baldwin Park, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $35–$40 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Set up, start up, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding processes for safe, efficient, and repeatable production.
• Identify and resolve molding defects, including flash, short shots, burns, splay, sink, voids, dimensional variation, contamination, gate issues, and cosmetic defects.
• Apply advanced knowledge of molds, tooling construction, mold alignment, parting lines, venting, gates, ejector systems, and tooling wear.
• Troubleshoot hot runner systems, including heaters, thermocouples, nozzles, manifolds, temperature controllers, wiring, and connectors.
• Collaborate with process engineering, tooling, maintenance, and quality teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support mold trials, process development, process transfers, and production start-ups for molded components.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• RJG Master Molder I certification.
• At least 2 years of experience directly related to injection molding and the stated responsibilities.
• Experience with thermoplastic injection molding processes and practical use of Scientific Process Development Principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Ability to work onsite in Baldwin Park, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Two-year degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing.
