Legal AI Lead (AI/LegalTech): Leading firm-wide adoption of generative AI tools across legal practice groups and business services with an accent on prompt engineering, AI workflows, responsible AI use, and stakeholder engagement. Focus on designing adoption strategies, delivering training and change management, and embedding AI into legal workflows while maintaining confidentiality, professional obligations, and quality standards.
Location: Melbourne CBD, Australia; full-time, five days per week in the office
Salary: AUD 180,000–280,000 per annum

What you will do
- Lead the adoption and embedding of AI tools across legal practice groups and business services.
- Identify high-value AI use cases and redesign workflows with partners, lawyers, support teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Develop tailored AI adoption strategies and provide practical guidance on prompt engineering, AI workflows, and AI agents.
- Design and deliver AI training, education, and change management programs.
- Act as the internal legal AI subject matter expert, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and assessments of emerging AI platforms.
- Support responsible AI adoption aligned with confidentiality requirements, professional obligations, firm policies, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, LegalTech environment, innovation, transformation, or technology role.
- Practical experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Harvey, or comparable enterprise platforms.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and AI-enabled workflows.
- Strong understanding of legal work and legal service delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong judgement regarding confidentiality, professional responsibility, risk, and responsible AI use.
Nice to have
- Experience delivering training, change management, or technology adoption initiatives.
- Experience working directly with lawyers and senior legal stakeholders.
