Lead AI Engineer

Location: Australia; hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home per week

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end development of AI agents and agentic orchestration solutions for production environments.
• Design and build scalable, reliable AI-native systems from experimentation through production.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and observability frameworks to improve AI quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Drive engineering excellence through DevSecOps and AIOps practices focused on security, reliability, and resilience.
• Build reusable components and contribute to shared frameworks, engineering standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to solve customer and business problems with AI-native approaches.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in software engineering, machine learning, or data science within cloud-native environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript, with experience using modern AI frameworks.
• Experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems with LLM-based development frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of AI evaluation, observability, and optimisation techniques.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools for scalable cloud solutions.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, data engineering, and Agile product-led delivery.
