Facilities Engineer I (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the OFP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility

What you will do

• Establish and maintain system specifications for black and clean utilities.
• Support design reviews, equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and training activities.
• Develop SOPs, maintenance plans, and technical standards for utility systems.
• Provide technical support to the project team and support facilities technicians after handover.
• Manage activities related to cost, quality, schedule, resources, and continuous process improvement.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external engineering teams and stakeholders while meeting EHS requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• With an associate degree in engineering, at least six years of internal hirify.global experience in clean and black utilities or similar systems is required.
• Two years of engineering experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP utilities, regulated environments, FDA, cGMP, and OSHA requirements is preferred.
• Ability to read and review CAD design drawings, with a basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work onsite, remain on feet for up to a 12-hour shift, work around hazardous materials and elevated heights, and perform inspections in confined spaces when required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of black utilities such as chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, and wastewater management.
• Knowledge of clean utilities such as process water, clean steam, process air, vacuum, and cryogenic storage.
• Understanding of URS, SAT, FAT, validation protocols, product documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and prioritizing departmental activities and resources.
