Equipment and Controls Technician (Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite at the Searcy Compressor Station, Searcy, Arkansas, United States. Monday through Friday with nights-and-weekends on-call responsibilities; must be able to respond to the station within 30 minutes to 1 hour of a callout.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and adjust electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, PLC, and automation systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspection checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, control systems, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
• Conduct advanced engine, compressor, and pump analytical testing and implement improvements based on findings.
• Install and commission equipment, conduit, large wire, circuits up to 480V, mechanical stainless-steel tubing, and fittings.
• Support grounding systems, security and intrusion systems, facility maintenance, third-party work oversight, and new facility design.
• Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns, complete documentation, and mentor other technicians.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent skills and experience; a bachelor's degree is advantageous.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Codes, electrical and mechanical blueprints, test instruments, process controls, gas processing, and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with flammable gases and liquids, high- and low-pressure systems, and two-stroke and four-stroke natural gas engines.
• Must be able to respond to the Searcy compressor station within 30 minutes to 1 hour of a callout and handle after-hours emergencies.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with company insurability requirements; a commercial driver's license may be required.
• Ability to speak and understand English. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb elevated platforms and ladders, and work in extreme weather and other physically demanding conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Caterpillar, Worthington, Cooper Bessemer, Clark, Waukesha, Siemens, or Allen Bradley equipment.
• PLC programming and Ladder Logic knowledge.
• Senior or industrial electrician, mechanical troubleshooter, E&I technician, compression technician, or similar experience.
