Salary: $61,000–$64,480 per year, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Patrol campus facilities by vehicle, bicycle, and foot, including nighttime building security checks.
• Enforce Texas motor vehicle, penal, education, and university regulations.
• Respond to emergency, injury, disturbance, traffic, and criminal calls and provide assistance to medical personnel.
• Investigate complaints, criminal offenses, collisions, and conduct interviews with complainants and witnesses.
• Secure crime scenes, collect and preserve evidence, prepare written reports, and testify in state and federal courts.
• Arrest offenders, execute lawful process, provide escorts and facility access, and maintain communication with the campus community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher in a related field and at least one year of related experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and satisfy Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and Texas A&M System standards.
• Hold a valid driver's license that is not subject to suspension.
• Hold a Granted, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Master Peace Officer Proficiency certificate from TCOLE, as applicable.
• Successfully complete the university police officer field training program and maintain required certifications.
• Must pass medical and psychological examinations, fingerprinting, and local, state, and U.S. criminal history checks.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree.
• Two years of full-time employment.
• Three years of higher education or campus law enforcement experience.
