Location: , Bozeman, Montana, United States. Onsite campus law enforcement role requiring a valid Montana driver license or the ability to obtain one within six months. Rotating day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, overtime, special events, and 24/7 emergency response availability.
Salary: $35.811101–$39.916228 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

What you will do
- Conduct vehicle, foot, bike, and alternate patrols across the university campus.
- Enforce state, local, federal, and university laws and policies, including traffic, parking, and DUI enforcement.
- Investigate accidents and criminal incidents, interview victims, suspects, and witnesses, and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Preserve crime scenes, collect and photograph evidence, and maintain chain of custody.
- Respond to fire, medical, and other emergency situations and provide campus security assistance.
- Support crime prevention programs, safety presentations, court testimony, special events, training, and research assignments.
Requirements
- Certified applicants only. Meet Montana peace officer education and certification standards.
- Current Montana POST certification or an equivalent out-of-state certification with the ability to obtain Montana POST certification within one year.
- Effective written, verbal, telephone, and in-person communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse university community.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and records management systems.
- Successful completion of a medical evaluation, psychological test, drug screening, and in-depth police background investigation.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and maintain annual certification with duty weapons.

- Knowledge and experience using firearms.
