Senior Proposal Writer (AI)

Location: Must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and able to commute to the hirify.global office in Chantilly, Virginia; flexible for occasional telework.

Projected compensation: $102,493.96–$178,217.11 per year.

What you will do

• Write, rewrite, and edit documents throughout the full proposal lifecycle.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, proposal teams, and stakeholders to develop compliant content based on RFP requirements, capture strategy, and corporate style guides.
• Conduct quality reviews and peer reviews for completeness, accuracy, clarity, consistency, compliance, and tone.
• Translate complex data into evaluator-friendly narratives and graphics.
• Research topics, tailor layouts and exhibits, and organize proposal space according to solicitation requirements.
• Maintain proposal processes and repositories, support post-submission content ingest and labeling, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
• Must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and able to commute to Chantilly, Virginia.
• Recent proposal writing experience using Shipley-based processes.
• Strong Microsoft Word skills, including applying style templates to produce compliant proposal sections.
• Education and experience combinations include BS with 10–12 years, MS with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years of experience.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating graphics into proposal documents.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, document collaboration, and Track Changes.
• Technical writing experience in IT and cybersecurity for federal government proposals.
• Experience using AI tools to compose proposal sections.
• Understanding of government RFPs, source selection, and changing requirements.
