Technical Writer, Journeyman (Cybersecurity)

Location: Primarily telework-based, with occasional meetings at client locations in Arlington, VA or Pensacola, FL, and hirify.global facilities in the Washington, DC metro area. US citizenship is required.

Salary: $74,090–$125,954 annually

What you will do

• Write and edit technical documents and deliverables for cybersecurity organizations.
• Translate complex IT, cybersecurity, and analytic topics into clear language for end users.
• Edit white papers, reports, presentations, press releases, standard operating procedures, and other communications materials.
• Research technical information and gather input from cybersecurity experts, developers, researchers, and customers.
• Coordinate stakeholder input, fact-checking, written content, and graphic design integration.
• Prepare and publish strategic communications collateral for large government, national, and international user bases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, plus 3 or more years of experience.
• At least 3 years of experience explaining highly technical data and information.
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, graphics, and collaborative tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Confluence, and wikis.
• Knowledge of policy, current events, and issues affecting critical infrastructure.
• Active security clearance and US citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant communications or humanities field.
• Cybersecurity communications, information technology, or cybersecurity experience.
• Scaled Agile Framework experience.
• CompTIA Security+ or higher certification.
