Senior Counsel (Fintech)

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide direct legal support for mortgage and HELOC products and related business units.
• Manage legal, regulatory, and product issues involving mortgage and consumer credit financial products.
• Advise on debt collection, privacy, consumer credit compliance, lending, and solar financing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work with outside counsel, in-house legal and paralegal teams, and business units.
• Provide proactive legal recommendations and act as a legal business partner to internal clients.

Requirements

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Experience advising mortgage lenders, financial institutions, or fintech companies on legal and regulatory consumer credit lending issues.
• Strong legal judgment, communication, interpersonal, and workload-management skills.
• Ability to work proactively with internal clients and external counsel in a high-pressure environment.
• Business sense, self-direction, urgency, honesty, fairness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with mortgage or HELOC products, litigation, consumer complaints, and examinations.
