Lead Mechanical Engineer - Product Design and Engineering (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, verification, validation, and certification of complex assemblies, sub-assemblies, and sub-components.
• Select materials, processing methods, and manufacturing equipment to support production.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, tolerances, GD&T annotations, specifications, and design reports.
• Evaluate system-level requirements and perform feasibility studies during concept development.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product integration.
• Support sustaining engineering and obsolescence activities across the product portfolio while coaching engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and verifying industrial products.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for part design, assemblies, drawings, and design reviews.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes, including practical GD&T application in production drawings.
• Experience designing mechanical products with internal electronics such as PCBs, connectors, cabling, and thermal considerations.
• Experience with structured engineering change processes, ERP/PLM systems such as SAP or ECTR, and cross-functional technical communication.
