Backend Developer (Java/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Design and implement Java/Spring Boot backend services for equipment replacement and rotation.
• Develop and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs for Facility Connect applications, integrating with the existing Stats API and platform services.
• Build auditable end-to-end workflows covering recommendations, operator decisions, execution, and completion.
• Integrate services with PostgreSQL, Firestore, GCP, Pub/Sub, and the AI/ML solution.
• Implement reporting, data exports, facility-scoped authorization, OAuth authentication, and data-access controls.
• Maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code configurations while supporting performance, reliability, security, and production readiness.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend-focused professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, plus GraphQL and REST API development.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including relational data modeling and query optimization.
• Experience with GCP, Cloud Run, Firestore or comparable NoSQL databases, event-driven architectures, and Pub/Sub.
• Hands-on experience with Google Agent Development Kit, Jenkins-based CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automated cloud deployments.
• Understanding of OAuth, RBAC, least-privilege access, distributed workflows, and enterprise application security; English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with fitness equipment platforms or operator-facing applications.
• Working knowledge of Angular for collaboration with frontend engineers.
