State and Local Tax Intern - Winter 2027

Location: Chicago; travel to assigned client locations is required

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate on tax engagements across a range of specialty areas, including income taxes, corporate taxation, federal credits and incentives, mergers and acquisitions, pass-through entities, private clients, and nonprofit organizations.
• Complete tax planning and research.
• Prepare federal and state and local tax returns.
• Apply tax regulations and accounting pronouncements to client work.

Requirements

• Complete at least 90 credit hours toward a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree at an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, computer, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• A minimum 3.0 GPA.
