Staff Platform Engineer (Azure)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite 4 days per week

What you will do

• Architect and operate the enterprise data platform on Azure across storage, compute, and streaming layers.
• Develop reusable frameworks for data ingestion, orchestration, and workflow execution.
• Build infrastructure as code with Terraform and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Design observability, monitoring, governance, identity integration, and secure platform frameworks.
• Lead event-driven, API, streaming, and batch integration patterns, including scalable M&A onboarding.
• Partner with analytics and data teams, provide architectural leadership, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong experience building and operating cloud-native platforms on Azure, including compute, storage, and networking.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD automation.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient systems with defined SLAs and SLOs.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, APIs, streaming systems, identity and access control, Entra ID, and platform observability.
• Must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization; U.S. employment opportunities are generally limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale data platforms, including lakehouses, warehouses, or streaming systems.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, or Fivetran from a platform enablement perspective.
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, or healthcare.
• Background in M&A systems integration, multi-region architectures, disaster recovery, or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Azure, AWS, GCP, or other relevant cloud and infrastructure certifications.
