Technical Writer (Engineering)

What you will do

• Create, develop, and edit operational, instructional, maintenance, and user documentation for customers and internal teams.
• Use XML-based authoring tools and AI-assisted tools to create content, edit materials, and maintain documentation standards.
• Identify and apply AI and automation use cases in documentation workflows.
• Create technical illustrations, schematics, and assembly and disassembly sequences for manuals.
• Format and catalog sub-assemblies and components according to established procedures and specifications.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, CAD designers, software developers, lab technicians, support engineers, and documentation specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience relevant to technical content writing.
• At least 4 years of technical writing experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Experience with XML authoring tools, Adobe FrameMaker, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office Suite, and video tools.
• Proficiency in technical illustrations and understanding of technical concepts and terminology related to the product area.
• Proficient English grammar required for producing content for native English-speaking audiences.
