TL;DR
System Engineer (Defense Acquisition): Developing acquisition strategies, technical requirements, and contracting documentation for national-security intelligence capabilities with an accent on prototype acquisition, proposal evaluation, and program execution. Focus on transitioning prototype software to long-term operations, tracking technical progress, and integrating SAFe Agile processes across government and contractor teams.
Location: Chantilly, Virginia; no remote or telework allowed
Salary: $135,035.83–$234,801.11 annually

What you will do
- Develop acquisition strategies and documentation with government technical and contracting staff.
- Plan and execute prototype acquisitions, including IDIQ task orders, BAAs, OTAs, and CSOs.
- Draft statements of work, CDRLs, in-scope determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria.
- Support financial execution, technical and cost evaluations, and program planning.
- Coordinate the transition of prototype software into baseline programs for long-term operations and maintenance.
- Track technical progress, identify blockers, assess solutions, and integrate SAFe Agile processes.
Requirements
- Technical degree with 5–12 years of experience depending on education level: BS/BA, MS/MA, or PhD.
- Active and maintainable TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Intelligence Community experience and work history.
- At least five years supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
- Demonstrated individual-contributor experience across integrated customer, contractor, project, and functional teams.
Nice to have
- DAWIA Program Management certification.
- PMP certification.
