Sr. Designer, Knitwear

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop knitwear concepts from initial ideas through show samples for women's and men's collections and multichannel assortments.
• Lead visual, vintage, trend, stitch, garment, and yarn research for seasonal collections and special projects.
• Create hand sketches, digital and 3D mock-ups, technical drawings, and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with knitwear vendors, factories, merchandising, product development, technical design, print, and concept teams.
• Manage sample development, design cards, timelines, fittings, quality, and design integrity through commercialization.
• Mentor junior designers and oversee team output, deadlines, and business objectives.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of design experience, preferably in knitwear.
• Bachelor's degree in design or a related field.
• Strong fashion sense with the ability to interpret trends and develop knitwear and yarn concepts.
• Excellent hand-sketching, garment-rendering, CAD technical-drawing, and image-manipulation skills.
• Experience developing products directly with factories from concept through commercialization, including materials, garment construction, performance, fit, and model fittings.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, plus strong communication and organizational skills.
