TL;DR
Grad Intern - Operations – Process Development (Summer 2027) (Biotech Process Development): Completing a technical process-development project that converts research molecules into manufacturable therapeutic products with an accent on laboratory research, process analysis, and data interpretation. Focus on developing experimental methods, evaluating complex options and trade-offs, and communicating business-influencing recommendations.

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States. The internship is full-time, and the student must be located in the United States for its duration.

Base pay: $35.34–$41.20 per hour.

What you will do

  • Complete a technical project in Process Development with support from a hiring manager.
  • Work in an area such as Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Manufacturing and Clinical Supply, Drug Product Technologies, or Combination Product Operations.
  • Analyze and interpret scientific or business-process data into meaningful, business-influencing outcomes.
  • Conduct laboratory research and learn new experimental methods.
  • Communicate project findings and processes clearly to the team.
  • Participate in training, lab and facilities tours, mentoring, executive speaker sessions, and networking events.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old and available for a full-time schedule.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or PhD program and have completed the first year before the internship starts.
  • Remain enrolled in an accredited college or university after the internship or co-op program.
  • Preferred academic backgrounds include Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

Nice to have

  • 2–4 years of laboratory experience and strong basic lab skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects consecutively.
  • Structured, pragmatic problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate options and trade-offs.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory policies.
