Intern, CMC Development (mRNA)

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; site-based and full-time onsite. Remote work is not available.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop manufacturing processes for mRNA therapeutics and vaccines in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
• Generate experimental results, analyze data, and prepare technical reports with conclusions and recommended next steps.
• Support process scale-up, technology transfer, and manufacturing activities at internal and external sites.
• Plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments and formal risk assessments to establish critical process parameters and process control strategies.
• Optimize formulation and processing conditions for the stability of mRNA drug products and intermediates.
• Create scaled-down models and high-throughput experimental setups, and characterize mRNA and lipid nanoparticles with analytical teams.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in a relevant scientific or engineering field, such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, biotechnology, molecular biology, pharmaceutical science, mathematics, or statistics.
• Strong scientific and engineering fundamentals for evaluating experimental data.
• Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods.
• Availability for the entire internship period from June 7, 2027, through August 20, 2026.
• Existing United States work authorization that can be maintained without future immigration sponsorship.
