Principal Agentic Workflow & AI Engineer, Biologics Discovery

Location: Onsite at an office in Spring House, Pennsylvania; Titusville, New Jersey; or Raritan, New Jersey, United States. No remote option.

Base pay: $117,000–$201,250 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and continuously improve agentic workflows that automate secondary analysis for biologics discovery assays.
• Build or oversee real-time pipelines connecting automation software, data stores, models, and compute environments.
• Implement resilient APIs, observability, versioning, and end-to-end workflow orchestration with IT and platform teams.
• Develop closed-loop feedback across the design-make-test-learn cycle so experimental outputs improve models and decisions.
• Ensure workflow-generated data is high-quality, traceable, interoperable, and AI-ready through metadata, provenance, and lineage.
• Set technical direction, evaluate emerging agentic AI methods, and mentor engineers and data scientists.

Requirements

• Advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related computational field.
• At least 3 years of experience building scientific workflow orchestration or automation software, including agentic workflows and technical leadership.
• Hands-on experience designing real-time or near-real-time data pipelines and integrating heterogeneous scientific data and instrument outputs.
• Experience applying agentic AI and modern LLM-based agents or comparable intelligent-automation systems to scientific or laboratory workflows.
• Experience with shared or enterprise GenAI platforms and retrieval-augmented approaches such as RAG or GraphRAG.
• Ability to translate scientific objectives into scalable technical solutions and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience in biologics, drug discovery, high-throughput experimentation, or imaging.
• Exposure to lab automation, robotic systems, or cyber-physical R&D systems.
• Familiarity with MLOps, DevOps, workflow engines, production monitoring, and observability.
• Knowledge of FAIR data, ontologies, semantic models, lineage, provenance, and AI-ready data standards.
