Manager, AI Engineering (GenAI/Python): Building client-facing Copilots, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and data integrations for biopharma and Life Sciences teams with an accent on rapid prototyping, production delivery, and client collaboration. Focus on designing AI solutions from ambiguous business challenges, deploying production-ready systems, and mentoring a small team of AI engineers.
Location: New York, NY, United States
Base salary: $148,000–$222,000 per year, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus.

What you will do
- Work directly with biopharma and Life Sciences commercial, medical affairs, and data teams to identify needs and translate them into engineered solutions.
- Build and rapidly prototype GenAI applications, client-facing Copilots, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, multimodal pipelines, and data integrations.
- Own delivery from initial discovery and whiteboarding through production-ready code, demonstrations, iteration, and handoff to product.
- Move between client engagements and product sprints as priorities change.
- Document reusable engineering patterns, create Copilot templates, and transfer field learnings into the product.
- Lead and develop 1–3 junior AI engineers through pairing, code reviews, feedback, onboarding, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of professional software engineering experience and a record of shipping production-quality systems.
- Strong Python proficiency and fluency with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic architectures, multimodal pipelines, or Copilot-style assistants.
- Experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders and working effectively in client-facing environments.
- Ability to work at a rapid pace, understand client needs before building, and collaborate across unfamiliar domains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams.
- Experience in Life Sciences or Biotech, including familiarity with commercial, medical affairs, or market access stakeholders.
