Principal Scientist, SOP & Workflow Automation Champion, AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD)

Salary: $201,300–$373,800 annually, with a potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design computational workflow architecture for end-to-end drug discovery.
• Lead the development and standardization of SOPs that operationalize machine learning capabilities.
• Architect data integration across heterogeneous sources, models, and discovery processes.
• Translate research-stage models and code into scalable, reproducible, production-ready components with clear interfaces, benchmarks, and failure modes.
• Partner with modeling, platform engineering, data infrastructure, portfolio, biology, chemistry, and technology development teams to implement workflows at scale.
• Lead and mentor scientists and engineers on workflow design, automation practices, and computational architecture.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, or equivalent advanced experience building computational systems for 8+ years.
• Deep expertise in workflow orchestration, data pipeline design, and software architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow, Snakemake, Airflow, or similar, plus version control, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience integrating computational methods with experimental biology and understanding drug discovery workflows.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional initiatives and the ability to build consensus among technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• First-author publications or equivalent evidence of research contributions.
• Experience driving adoption of new standards, tools, or processes in larger organizations.
