Location: Hornbeck, Louisiana; successful candidates must reside within 25 miles of the Hornbeck Service Center

Salary: $34.69–$56.36 per hour, depending on Lineman C, B, or A classification

What you will do

• Install, maintain, remove, and inspect overhead and underground transmission and distribution facilities.
• Work on energized conductors and equipment up to 600 volts under the applicable level of supervision.
• Use volt-amp meters, ground meggers, continuity testers, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Operate switching and sectionalizing devices, apply protective insulating equipment, and place or remove grounds.
• Build transformer platforms, overhead transformer installations, and other equipment mountings.
• Tag energized circuits, inspect and troubleshoot lines, and direct assigned assisting employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Lineman C requires at least one year of distribution electrical power line experience or an approved electrical power line education and internship pathway.
• Lineman B requires at least two years of experience as Lineman C or equivalent.
• Lineman A requires completed apprentice lineman training, B-200 certification testing with a score of at least 80%, and successful hands-on demonstrations; external candidates need at least four years of line work experience and a successful journeyman pre-assessment.
• A physical abilities assessment is required, and the role involves heavy work.
