Director Technology Risk (AI)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; employees work in the office at least four days per week and may work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $140,200–$192,800 per year, with potential variable compensation including bonuses, commissions, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead independent oversight of technology and cyber/information security activities within the Second Line of Defense.
• Implement the Operational Risk Management methodology across the assigned business unit.
• Execute Risk and Control Self-Assessments, maintain risk and control documentation, and improve RCSA processes and tools.
• Review risk events, challenge root-cause analyses and remediation plans, and monitor emerging risk trends.
• Prepare Risk Oversight Committee materials, risk reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct reports while supporting broader leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IT technical and operational processes, associated risks and controls, and IT risk management, including a strong emphasis on AI risk management.
• Experience with risk management frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements including NIST, COBIT, FFIEC, ISO 27000, and related IT governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with eGRC solutions and strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technology risks to non-technical stakeholders and influence leaders across organizational levels.
• Must have valid United States work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
