Director Cybersecurity (Robotics)

Location: Full-time, on-site at Sunnyvale, California HQ; this is not a remote role.

Base salary: $200,000–$260,000 per year, depending on experience; equity in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Define and execute the company-wide cybersecurity vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with business objectives, product development, and go-to-market strategy.
• Lead the evolution toward AI-driven security operations and intelligent automation.
• Establish enterprise security governance frameworks, oversee risk assessments and mitigation strategies, and own third-party and vendor risk management.
• Define security standards and architecture for autonomous robotics, embedded systems, IoT devices, cloud-connected devices, AI platforms, and field deployments.
• Ensure effective incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, security metrics, and executive oversight during major incidents.
• Build and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team, advise executive and board-level stakeholders, and partner with Legal, IT, Engineering, Operations, customers, partners, and government stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven experience building and scaling cybersecurity programs in technology-driven organizations.
• Recent Palantir FedStart experience is mandatory.
• Experience integrating or overseeing AI/ML applications in cybersecurity, including threat detection, automation, or anomaly detection.
• Deep expertise in NIST and FedRAMP security frameworks and risk management practices, including government and public-sector security requirements such as FedRAMP, CJIS, or similar.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, network architecture, and Zero Trust models.
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
• Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be hands-on.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or IoT security.
• Experience working with government agencies, public safety, or defense environments.
• Familiarity with government-deployment compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP, CJIS, and DoD standards.
• Experience securing AI-driven platforms and edge computing environments.
