What you will do
- Run distributed applications across multiple sites and large-scale environments.
- Support applications in shared virtualized and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot application and server-resource issues and tune performance.
- Develop and use scripting and automation tools to remediate issues and manage changes across large environments.
- Design application deployments for load, scale, fault tolerance, performance, and failover.
- Apply networking and security principles when architecting solutions.
Requirements
- Experience operating distributed applications across multiple sites and large-scale environments.
- Knowledge of cloud and shared virtualized environments.
- Advanced tactical troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Knowledge of the OSI networking model and communication between its layers.
- Proven scripting experience with Python and shell.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, load balancing, and GSLB tools.
Nice to have
- Mail systems, IMAP servers, Dovecot, or Zimbra experience.
- Object storage integration with end-user applications.
- OpenStack experience at operator or consumer level.
- HAProxy expertise.
- Cassandra experience, including performance and application tuning.
