Senior Aircraft/Missile Systems Engineer (Hypersonics)

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle of an advanced hypersonic vehicle.
• Specify and oversee the procurement or build of the hypersonic vehicle.
• Develop and manage technical performance metrics, budgets, key performance parameters, and requirements for airworthiness, navigation, control, and stability.
• Collaborate with aerodynamicists to define design reference missions and evaluate vehicle performance.
• Assess capabilities against adversary systems with Intelligence Community partners and adjust requirements to maintain operational overmatch.
• Advise program management, customers, and SETA personnel on system risks, maturation progress, and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
• At least 20 years of systems engineering experience.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Experience with hypersonics or at NAVAIR or NAVSEA.
• Hands-on experience with GNC systems, actuator technologies, power systems, telemetry, and flight test instrumentation.

Nice to have

• Active Secret clearance.
• Background in high-speed aerodynamics, aerothermal analysis, or vehicle integration.
• Experience with digital engineering, modeling and simulation environments, and system-level performance modeling.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for working with government sponsors, technical teams, and senior decision-makers.
