Compensation: $30–$40 per hour for a non-exempt role; housing and travel stipend may be available.

What you will do
- Operate antenna measurement infrastructure, including anechoic chambers and near-field scanners.
- Qualify RF and antenna hardware through vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum testing.
- Support the design, analysis, and validation of RF and microwave hardware from 200 MHz UHF through 31 GHz Ka band.
- Perform development and production tests for internal and external customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, managers, and external stakeholders to integrate RF analysis and testing into spacecraft systems.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in electrical engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- At least 6 months of technical engineering experience outside regular university coursework, such as laboratory work, research, extracurricular projects, volunteering, personal projects, or prior internships.
- Available for a minimum 12-week, in-person internship at the Torrance headquarters.
- Must be a U.S. person under ITAR regulations or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.
Nice to have
- Experience with RF measurement tools such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with RF, antenna, and electromagnetic modeling tools such as Ansys HFSS or Cadence AWR Microwave Office.
- Understanding of impedance matching, S-parameters, and antenna patterns.
- Familiarity with environmental testing for space electronics, including thermal, vibration, TVAC, radiation, and EMI/EMC testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, engineers, and managers.
