TL;DR
Material Specialist / Scheduler (Supply Chain and Lean Manufacturing): Developing and implementing lean material flow strategies across production scheduling, inventory control, ERP, WMS, and PFEP processes with an accent on shortage mitigation, logistics route engineering, and cost reduction. Focus on analyzing value streams, synchronizing material consumption with production, leading cross-functional improvement projects, and tracking schedules and KPI targets.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The role combines office-based work with physical activity in production environments and may require occasional travel of less than 10%.

Salary: $57,600–$90,400 per year.

What you will do

  • Support the standardization, advancement, and implementation of lean enterprise material flow strategies.
  • Manage material-flow systems and processes covering KPIs, PFEP, replenishment, WMS, inventory control, production scheduling, and IT support systems.
  • Update ERP parameters and maintain documentation to support material strategies, monitoring, and change management.
  • Analyze shortages, inventory errors, material damage, and workload forecasts to develop corrective solutions.
  • Lead initiatives for material-consumption synchronization, efficient conveyance routes, point-of-use presentation, and waste reduction.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring schedule attainment, KPI performance, and executive status reporting.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and at least two years of experience in supply chain, materials, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, prioritization, communication, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage changing requirements, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with web-based software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to perform detailed computer-based work and occasional production-floor activities, including walking, standing, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing stairs.

Nice to have

  • Relevant industry certifications.

  • Experience mentoring or leading team members through direct reporting or project work.
