Estimator, Heavy Civil - Michels Construction, Inc.

Location: White Plains, New York, United States; approximately 25% travel required for jobsite visits, pre-bid meetings, and pre-construction meetings.

Salary: $102,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Evaluate bid specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings.
• Solicit and assess material and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare accurate, competitive bids for highways, tunnels, bridges, airport runways, railways, and other infrastructure projects.
• Work with Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets and support business closure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or an equivalent four-year degree, plus 3+ years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of estimating and scheduling software such as HCSS and B2W.
• Negotiation experience.
• Valid driver’s license for the vehicle types driven and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently, produce highly accurate work, and meet tight deadlines.
