Senior Estimator (Trenchless Infrastructure)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; periodic travel to project sites, pre-bid meetings, subcontractor facilities, and corporate offices is required.

Expected salary range: $123,000–$185,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical information to identify project requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production-based cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, field operations, procurement, and executive leadership.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, change management, and strategic planning.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, productivity evaluations, project reviews, and maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, engineering technology, business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in estimating, project engineering, project management, or construction operations.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil, underground utility, tunneling, trenchless, rehabilitation, or wastewater infrastructure construction.
• Experience with tunnel rehabilitation, wastewater conveyance systems, large-diameter utility infrastructure, change order development and negotiation, and large public infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, along with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience with estimating software and cost databases.
• Familiarity with trenchless construction technologies.
