Pay rate: $30.08 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect vessels and peripheral equipment before voyages to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Operate vessels in oceans, bays, lakes, rivers, and coastal waters when directed and safe to do so.
• Deploy, tow, and anchor containment booms and other spill-response equipment.
• Use navigational equipment, weather forecasts, and tide/current predictions to support vessel and crew safety.
• Adjust float and work plans with the supervisor as environmental conditions develop.
• Direct crew activities, conduct onboard safety drills, and maintain vessel and regulatory logs.

Requirements

• At least one year of related maritime industry experience.
• Knowledge of vessel operation, navigation, electrical and mechanical systems, and maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Ability to complete paperwork including customer and vessel logbooks, charts, EPA discharge logs, placards, and labeling.
• May be required to hold a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential, local boating certificates, HAZWOPER certification, and a passport.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, maintain accuracy, and meet defined deadlines.
