Avionics Technician IV (Unmanned Systems)

Location: Remote, based in the United States; Elizabethtown, North Carolina is the associated onsite facility. Up to 75% travel may be required if not located near the facility.

What you will do

• Install and integrate avionics hardware and software on production unmanned aircraft systems.
• Build and install wiring harnesses, avionics racks, line-replaceable units, antennas, and sensors.
• Perform continuity, pinout, insulation resistance, electrical, and functional system tests.
• Execute acceptance and production test procedures and document results in production and maintenance records.
• Troubleshoot production discrepancies and non-conformances while supporting first article inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to improve build efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of avionics maintenance or integration experience on manned or unmanned aircraft.
• U.S. Citizenship and U.S. Person status are required due to controlled environments and export control regulations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and work in classified environments.
• Strong knowledge of avionics systems, electrical theory, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience interpreting technical orders, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and basic machine shop equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with composite airframes, UAS avionics, or flight control systems.
• Experience supporting DoD or military aviation programs.
• Prior military avionics training or FAA A&P certification.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD wiring, connectors, workmanship standards, RF systems, datalinks, or secure communications.
• Active Secret or higher security clearance.
