Field Claims Specialist II, Property Contents

Location: Chicago, Illinois preferred; work from home with day travel 3–4 days per week to policy locations across Illinois and surrounding states. The role includes onsite and virtual inspections, possible overnight travel, and travel to catastrophe sites.

Salary: $62,500–$115,500 annual national range; expected starting range of $62,500–$93,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate moderate to severe property losses, focusing on damaged contents.
• Meet with customers or representatives to create inventories of damaged contents and research replacement pricing.
• Determine policy coverage, adjust reserves, and resolve claims within delegated authority and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors on cleaning, restoration, and replacement of damaged contents.
• Partner with the Special Investigation Unit and Subrogation team to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.
• Mentor less experienced claims associates and support training and presentations.

Requirements

• Three to five years of property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Experience with Xactimate, content inventory, pricing, repair or mitigation, and property estimating systems.
• Construction experience in residential work, remodeling, water mitigation, or a related area.
• Knowledge of insurance theory, policy coverage, investigations, settlements, repair requirements, and property-loss cost estimates.
• Strong customer service, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; willingness to work irregular or extended hours, travel overnight, and support catastrophe assignments is required.
